Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies (Anti-TPO) Test

The Anti-TPO Test measures the level of antibodies against thyroid peroxidase (TPO), an enzyme critical for thyroid hormone production. Elevated Anti-TPO antibodies may indicate an autoimmune thyroid disorder, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis or Graves’ disease.

What It Measures:

• Anti-TPO Antibodies: Detects antibodies targeting thyroid peroxidase. High levels suggest the immune system is attacking the thyroid, potentially affecting its function.
